Call for CAMPER Submissions: CAMPER: In Situ
Deadline: May 5, 2017

TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary is now accepting applications for our 2017 CAMPER programming based around the thematic In Situ.

CAMPER is seeking proposals that will engage and respond directly with sites of historical, geographical, and social significance to the city of Calgary and its surrounding areas. TRUCK asks artists to consider the site-specificity of their proposals as well as notions of temporality, materiality, and ecology.

One of TRUCK’s three permanent programming venues, CAMPER (Contemporary Art Mobile Public Exhibition Rig) is a 1981 Ford Econoline motor-home, modified to become a portable public exhibition and project space that has served as a site for public engagement and interactive contemporary art activities for over 10 years. CAMPER’s mandate is to investigate the places where art, the road, education, and recreation meet, and to explore these intersections in an inclusive, participation-oriented manner that fosters public engagement and appreciation of contemporary art practices.

Submissions will be accepted until Friday, May 5, 2017 at 5:00PM. Project timelines should not exceed one day and proposed projects should take advantage of the unique opportunities provided by CAMPER.
