Saturday June 30 2019
12pm - 4pm
On Sunday June 30th the Gumisistiy Youth Program is hosting a free braiding and performance workshop led by Mi’kmaq artist Meagan Musseau at the Bullhead Hall. Over the course of the day participants will work closely with the artist to learn about making art with flagging tape and will take home their own braided artwork. The workshop will consider how art can connect us to land, water, and spirit, and will be guided by ancestral Mi’kmaq knowledges in conversation with Tsuut’ina knowledges and practices of braiding sweetgrass.
Materials and lunch are provided free of charge. This workshop is open to youth aged 12-21.
