Bike-In Cinema! | TRUCK, CSIF, QAS | July 30, 2015


Join us Thursday July 30th for a psychedelic evening of films under the stars as TRUCK's CAMPER, the Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers, & Quickdraw Animation Society co-presenting another edition of Bike-In Cinema! 

The CAMPER will be parked behind the Hillhurst/Sunnyside Community Centre and the evenings programs will begin shortly after sunset (9:30ish).

A Field in England (2013). Dir. Ben Wheatley 

A Field in England is a psychedelic trip into magic and madness from director Ben Wheatley. In the war-torn England countryside in 1648, a small group of deserters flee the raging battle through an overgroun field. They are captured and forced to help on of their captors in his search to find a hidden treasure that he believes is buried in the field. The group defends into a chaos of arguments, fighting and paranoia, and, as it becomes clear that the treasure might be something other than gold, they gradually become victim to the terrifying energies trapped inside the field. 

Bike-In Cinema! is an outdoor screening series hosted by TRUCK Gallery’s CAMPER (Contemporary Art Mobile Public Exhibition Rig) presented in partnership with some of Calgary’s finest film, production and new media organizations.Using the CAMPER as a site for projection, Bike-in Cinema is a collaborative celebration of film, animation and media that encourages exploration of Calgary’s urban environment. Set in the various locations of the Calgary outdoors, Bike-in Cinema invites all to cycle towards the CAMPER for a night full of animation and film!
