The exhibition represents a personal history of art and life. "Art for me is a metaphoric activity which finds new symbols to signify and express new areas of sensibility. The individual marks I use are symbolic in the sense that I have assigned them a specific meaning (not in the universal sense of symbolism)."

"The 'artefact' - unconscious sacred truths uncovered - the uncovering, documenting using symbolic marks and ultimately preserving and protecting a history of an individual."

Helen Zenith

Born in Czechoslovakia, Zenith travelled extensively before becoming a Canadian citizen in 1960. Since receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Calgary, her work has been exhibited throughout Alberta.
