Ropes, Rocks, and Sunshine | Debra Newberry | May 24 to June 4, 1984

Debra Newberry's sculptural works, or "Sun Tents" as she calls them, are made to celebrate light and color. The viewer can crawl in, under, over, and around these tents and experience diffused light shining through the soft colors.

The works on paper are about the tension of the ropes used to support the tents and the stones used to anchor the tents to the ground, as well as the lightness and colors of the tents themselves.
